 Winners of Naseej Academy Grant to Attend the Mortenson Center Associates Program 2017 Announced

The winners of the Naseej Academy Grant to attend the Mortenson Center Associates Program 2017 were announced at the concluding ceremony of the 23rd Annual Conference & Exhibition of SLA–AGC. The Mortenson Center Associates Program, on the theme "Building Sustainable Libraries", will be held from May 24 to June 20, 2017, in Champaign, Illinois, United States.
The winners are:

  • Dalal Abdul Qawi Muhammad Qassim, United Arab Emirates, Information Specialist, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).  
  • Walid bin Ali bin Salem, Sultanate of Oman, President of Oman Libraries Association.

The grant is jointly awarded by Naseej Academy and the Arabian Gulf Chapter (AGC) of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) to enable two professionals in library, information and archive institutions to participate in the Mortenson Center Associates Program, titled “Building Sustainable Libraries”, to be held from May 24 to June 20, 2017, in Champaign, Illinois, United States. The program will enhance opportunities for library staff, by enabling them to learn about current industry trends, meet library experts, share insights and views, and then return to their libraries as professionals who can have a positive impact.

Eng. Abdulla Al Turaifi, Naseej VP, extended his sincere congratulations to the winners, and expressed his deep appreciation to the other applicants and wished them success in future awards. 

About the 2017 Mortenson Center Associates Program
The 2017 Mortenson Center Associates Program will offer individuals working in a library setting outside the United States an opportunity to explore current issues and trends in the library field and to engage with librarians implementing cutting-edge programs and services.
