Naseej Academy and IFLA Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries Announce IFLA 2017 Grant

Naseej Academy and the IFLA Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA–CASL) have announced that applications are invited for Naseej Academy's grant to participate in the annual World Library and Information Congress (WLIC), organized by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) on August 19–25, 2017, in Wroclaw, Poland.

  • The grant is awarded to an Arab library and information specialist.
  • Paper presenters, and those who have an active role in the conference, are given priority.
  • A joint committee from IFLA and Naseej Academy selects the grant winner.
  • The grant covers travel, accommodation and registration expenses for one person up to USD 2.000.
  • The winner is to make all his own arrangements related to participation procedures, online registration, accommodation (hotel chosen by Naseej Academy), flights and visa. All amounts will be repaid within one month after the conference, to ensure the nominees' commitment to the grant. In the case of failure – for any reason – to attend the conference, the winner is to bear all his expenses without any liability on the part of Naseej Academy.
  • The winner commits to preparing a professional report documenting his participation in various activities at the conference, and describing how his participation will benefit his  institution.
