 Naseej Academy Conducts Forum on Knowledge Management Utilization in Realizing Saudi Vision 2030

The forum “Knowledge Management Utilization in Realizing Saudi Vision 2030”, organized by Naseej Academy, was held on November 26, 2017, at Four Seasons Hotel, Riyadh, KSA.
The forum was attended by representatives from many institutions and ministries in the Kingdom, including STC (Saudi Telecom Company), National Information Centre, Public Pension Agency, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance, King Abdulaziz University, and many others. 

Attendees praised the forum, which was managed by Professor Dr. Mohammad J. Arif, Chairman of the Department of Information Science, Faculty of Art & Humanities, King Abdulaziz University, and the Consultant in Knowledge Management at Efadah Management Consulting.
Scott Leeb, the Senior Consultant at knowledge management consulting firm Iknow LLC, spoke about the role of knowledge management in government organizations, and of the differences between knowledge management in the public and private sectors. He presented various models of knowledge management used in the governmental organizations sector, highlighting its key role in government organizations, as well as organizational challenges and the knowledge management solutions that can be offered.
Dr. Hossam Rowaihy, Director of the Knowledge Center at the National Center for Strategic Development Studies, conducted a presentation entitled “The Role of Knowledge Centers in Achieving the Vision of the Kingdom 2030”, in which he discussed the importance of knowledge centers in government institutions and ways to enhance the spirit of cooperation and partnership among these centers. He emphasized the importance of communication at all levels, of implementing mechanisms to support the knowledge centers to achieve the vision of the Kingdom 2030, and of working to increase transparency and accountability. 
At the end of his talk, he focused on the important role played by the National Center for Strategic Studies for Development, and on its contribution to supporting decision making and facilitating access to specialized knowledge in the field of economy and planning in the KSA.
The presence of Mr. David Gurteen, an international expert on developing leadership skills in the knowledge sector, added maximum value to the event. His experience in managing workshops and café events was reflected in his performance and interventions at the forum.
As part of the forum, Naseej Academy organized an open meeting managed by Mr. David Gurteen entitled “Reflection on the social aspects of knowledge management on strategic planning trend”, which was very similar to the Gurteen Knowledge Café. 

During the meeting, a number of important topics were raised that focused on mechanisms for activating the knowledge management philosophy in the daily work of an institution, and on how to measure its qualitative and quantitative aspects. Participants also discussed ways to achieve a deeper understanding of how the types of knowledge management contribute to the formulation and implementation of strategies, and the ways humans influence the successful implementation of knowledge management in organizations. 
At the conclusion of the forum, the participants expressed their satisfaction with its organization, and noted the effective presentation tips of the speakers, who enriched the forum with new and inspiring ideas, in addition to highlighting a number of vital topics in the context of the discussions.
