The President of the Oman Libraries Association and recipient of the 2017 Mortenson Center Associates Program Grant sponsored by Naseej Academy and SLA–AGC, Mr. Walid Al-Bady, has commenced his participation in the program, to be held from May 24 to June 20, 2017, in Champaign, Illinois, USA.
The annual grant enables library professionals to discover and review the latest industry trends. Grant recipients will also have ample opportunity to engage with librarians implementing cutting-edge programs and services.
This year’s program includes the following:
- Seminars and workshops providing an overview of current trends in the field. Library experts will be invited to share their perspectives, offer expertise, and foster conversations on the themes of communication and leadership.
- Tours of a variety of libraries, including academic, public and school libraries. We may also visit the American Library Association headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, and other sites of interest.
- Networking with a dynamic group of international colleagues during and following the program.
- Participants will develop individual action plans, appropriate to their professional and institutional needs, and will receive a post-program implementation review.
- Participants will receive a Certificate of Program Participation upon completion.
